Terms of use
The rules for using Amend, in plain words.
No guarantee
Amend is provided as is, without any warranty. Its data can be wrong, late or incomplete: the FAA can correct a cycle after it's posted, an update can fail, and a rule can sort a change the wrong way. Plain-English remarks are made by AI and checked by code, and the FAA text next to them is the one that counts. The site or its data can be unavailable at any time, and features can change or stop without notice.
If the FAA's own data looks wrong, report it to the FAA through its Aeronautical Inquiries page. Amend only repeats what the FAA publishes.
Liability
As far as the law allows, Amend and the people who make it aren't liable for any loss or damage that comes from using it or relying on it, including in flight planning or training.
Not the FAA
Amend is independent. It isn't affiliated with, endorsed by or checked by the FAA. The data comes from public FAA publications.
Using the site and data
You're free to use the site, the alert feeds and the JSON files, including in your own tools and training material. Please don't present Amend's data as official FAA data, and keep automated requests reasonable: the data only changes a few times a day. Don't try to break, overload or get around how the site works.
The code is source available under the Functional Source License (FSL-1.1-MIT). You can read, use and change it for anything except a competing commercial product or service, and each version becomes available under the MIT license two years after it's published. Code published before 30 Sep 2026 stays under the MIT license.
Other sites
Amend links to sites it doesn't run, like FAA pages and plates, GitHub, and news reader apps. Their own terms and privacy policies apply there, and Amend isn't responsible for them.

Last changed 30 Sep 2026. These terms can change as Amend does; changes are listed in the changelog and every edit is on GitHub. Questions go to hello@amend.watch.
